Time to Look at the Colts Betting Odds
With the Indiana Pacers flaming out early in the NBA Postseason, sports fans in the state have been without a local team for some time.
The Indianapolis Colts are easily the most popular team in the state, and they are set to begin their training camp later this month.
Now that the regular season is just a few months away, it is time to take a closer look at betting odds for the Colts. There are a number of different ways to bet on the team, and the Colts do have some favorable odds.
The Colts are the betting favorites at +110 with FanDuel to win the AFC South Division title this season, but the Tennessee Titans are right behind them at +115. These two teams are clearly the class of the division, and it should make for a terrific battle throughout the season.
Tennessee recently went out and acquired wide receiver Julio Jones, and that is going to give them a huge boost on offense this season. The Colts are still expected to be the much better defensive team, but slowing down Jones will be an issue.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the big betting favorites to win the AFC Championship this season, but the Colts could factor in the race. Kansas City is listed at +260, and there are four other teams ahead of Indianapolis.
In the AFC, the Buffalo Bills (+600), Baltimore Ravens (+650), Cleveland Browns (+850), and Denver Broncos (+1200) are all ahead of the Colts at +1300. Winning the AFC South Division is clearly the first step for the Colts if they want to win a title.
At this point in time, the Colts have odds set at +2400 to win the Super Bowl this season. Those are the 10th best odds on the board, which signals that the Colts are actually getting a decent shot at winning a title.
If you are looking to bet on win totals for the 2021 season, you must remember that the league has gone with a 17-game regular-season schedule. That will give the Colts a chance to pick up another win.
Currently, the win totals for the Colts are set at 9.5 wins. Betting on the over is listed at -150, and betting on the under is +125.
Wentz For MVP?
If the Colts are going to win the division or the conference this season, then it is going to take a big season from quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles after he had a miserable 2020 season.
Just a few years ago, Wentz looked like he was on his way to winning the MVP of the National Football League. An injury derailed those chances, and Wentz has not been able to regain his form.
Heading into the 2021 season, Wentz is +4000 to win the NFL MVP Award, which has him at 11th place on the list. Those odds will be shortened if Wentz and the Colts are able to get off to a fast start in 2021.
